Description

This research project focuses on three vulnerable groups in Sri Lanka and will assess
the level of knowledge of HIV/AIDS, availability of and access to prevention methods,
and actual use of these methods among members of vulnerable groups. The
vulnerable groups under study include UN peacekeeping forces from Sri Lanka that
have been deployed in Haiti, military personnel and sex workers. An important aspect
of this project is to review current policies and programmes on HIV/AIDS and to offer
recommendations in order to improve HIV/AIDS programmes that target these
vulnerable groups.
