Description

This research project will receive funding from the Security and Humanitarian
Response Unit at UNAIDS. The research will consist of national case studies in 16
troop contributing countries in Latin America, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle
East1, carried out collaboratively with local based researchers. The primary objective
is to review military HIV policies and their implementation into concrete programmes
in these countries. Furthermore, additional research will be undertaken to assess
whether there are additional HIV prevention policies and programs specifically
geared for those to be deployed in peace-keeping operations. Methodological details
of this research project are being finalized between ASCI and UNAIDS.
