Biography
Dr. Adebajo is Executive Director of the Centre for Conflict Resolution (CCR) at the University of Cape Town.
Dr Adekeye Adebajo joined CCR as our new Executive Director on 2 October 2003. He has a BA from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria; an MA from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in the US: and an MPhil and DPhil from St. Antony's College, Oxford University, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar.
Adekeye is an accomplished scholar who has authored and edited three books and published numerous articles on peace and conflict issues in Africa. He was an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) between 2001 and 2003. During the same period, he was Director of the Africa Programme of the New York-based International Peace Academy (IPA), a research and policy development institute, where he managed projects on regional security, peacebuilding and conflict management in Africa with a $1 million annual budget. In a relatively short period of time, he built a successful program at IPA which is recognised as a valuable resource for the United Nations (UN) and regional organisations in Africa. Adekeye also served on UN missions in South Africa, Western Sahara and Iraq.
